... Does anyone use this function?

I was picking up the girlfriend from a works do the other night, and whilst waiting I was having a play around with some of the gadgets on the computer in the GP. Being of the male species I havn't read the instructions/user manual to the car properly (actually, I havn't read it at all).

So, I come across this speed beep function. I thought it quite useful and set it to 30mph - although, this was soon changed after 10 minuites of driving and constant beeping. So, i've now put it to 70mph, for whenever im on the motorway. Even though this won't change what speed im doing on the motorway, and isn't likely to make me stick at 70mph (I didn't say that though).

Another little feature I found, again whilst waiting for the girlfriend, was the folding back seats. I didn't know they foldeded fully flat. So another bonus to be had from the GP (y)

And, before you ask - I did get odd looks from passers by when I was parked at the side of a road in the dark flipping my back seats up and down. And, I was halfway through this when she came out of the pub to which I heard - "Its bl**dy cold out here and your faffing around with those seats .... get in the car."

I do! Set it to 75 as 70 was way too annoying. Plus if do go past it, its only 1 beep;)

Measured it from my tomtom that 75 on the speedo is 70 as well.

it would be usefull to set it to say 32mph, but have it turn off at 40.

Methinks you have too much faith in the accuracy of the GP ( or indeed msot cars) speedos :) .

That said , mine overstates the speed - ie speedo said 60 mph , 2 different sat navs said 55/56 mph.

So to compensate, I've set the beep for 80 mph - but I've not had courage to test that through a 70 mph Gatso yet :D .

I don't use the speed beep function - useful at first but it gets annoying very quickly.

I set mine at 75MPH as it very easy to pass this in the 1.9 Sporting with all that torque, only 2100 rpm engine speed approximatly. The system only highlights speed for a few seconds on my car and then reverts back to normal if you continue above the set speed. :)

Yea i found this feature annoying in my hire GP in the summer, was set at 50mph... and as driving on strange roads on the wrong side, in a new car, and this damm beeping going on.... thatkfully could pull over 10miles down the rd and switch the damm thing off, although at first i thought it was the car telling me it was broken!

Also the silly beep when you pull the handbrake while moving... ;)
