Technical How tough is the GP's underside?

Reason I ask is because I just had the unfortunate experience of running over a cat - heard the animal being rolled underneath the car and felt a (relatively) faint thud - good thing the car isn't lowered otherwise there goes the bumper. By the time I did a U turn the the cat was gone, so I'm assuming its ok :)confused:).

Question is, how likely is the underside damaged?

I dont want to be the bearer of bad news but chack thouroughly. Same thing happened to a mate. He noticed an odd smell from the car some weeks later and found a toothless grinning cat staring down at him from under the wheel arch, nice and crispy.

"Your not suposed to brake for a cat or small animal in the road. Its not worth Killing yourself or another road user chances are if you do an emergancy stop"

I was giving assistance in an motor accident on the way to work about 10 yrs ago. A woman had done an emergency brake on a fast `A` road with trees at the side, she went into a tree at about 50mph as she swerved to avoid a cat. Her passenger in the other front seat took all the impact and died on the scene of head injuries as the fire brigade cut her out.

Man that's gross.. were maggots included? :D

The car's been booked in at the dealers next week so hopefully they'll be nice enough to take a look underneath for me (its probably better for them to do it as they have the machinery to lift the car off the ground).
