Anyone out there with a K & N panel filter for the Grande Punto 1.9 sporting?
They seem to cover the rest of the range but havent bothered with the 130.

Are there any alternatives that are just as good or should i wait for K & N?

Does it really make that much difference to everyday driving having one of these filters fitted or am i just wasting my money?

Cheers Guys

GP 130 in Red, Kef Reference and Genesis 4 Channel

Sounds Well.

it depends mate... if no one has one they won't be able to tell you! but i hope this will help you...

from my previous ownership of cars, of which i have mucked about with the induction for the them, it generally helps the cars responses to improve and pick up. also helps day to day driving of the car, makes it easy etc... i don't think something as small as the panel filter will do any harm, an would imagine that it could only improve the car.

:)

no mate tried everywhere, they just dont do them yet unfortunatly! gonna get one as soon as there out and an full exhaust system, had it chipped up to 162bhp, and they said if i get filter and exhaust will prob put up 10-20bhp more!

LOL :D thats a good one, next they will be telling you those ebay reistors are awesome and dont ruin the engine, a panel filter wont make any bhp difference (or something very slightly like possibly 1) an open cone would take away bhp (has been proven before) and a forced indution kit will give max about 6 if lucky depending on make etc, and with the exhaust, if you get a whole new system (not just a backbox like a lot of people think) you MIGHT see about 10ish max, if you got the filter and exhaust before the remap though then you would see better increases

BMC Airfilters do a replacement panel filter for the 1.9 130bhp (product number is 446/03), and is the same technology as K&N. BMC also do an induction kit for the 1.9 130bhp (see picture) product number CDASP20. Have a look at http://www.bmcairfilters.com to see the Grande Punto page. As for ordering, I used Edworthys online (if they don't stock it normally, they will order it in for you).

I think the BMC CDA induction kit is the same carbon induction kit that Angel Tuning use.

Hope this helps.

:)

Can anyone help me with finding an induction kit for the Grande Punto 1.4 16v sporting model?

There only seems to be either BMC or K & N filters, not keen on K & N to be honest. Was hoping there would be a viper induction kit available like there was for the mk2 punto sporting 1.2. If it is possible to get the universal version of the viper kit, can someone please give me info of size I should be looking at?

Thanks

Chris

The CDA or DIA are universal and will fit your car. You may need a few of the silicone bits to go with it, but a CDA or DIA 70/130 will fit.

Thanks for your advice people. Is there anyone who knows if and what size universal viper kit is available though, had one of these before and they are great. Is it the same size as what I was told for the universal BMC?

its a tunit box, and a just replacing the filter, not a cone, and a full exhaust sytem, then back on the rolling road should get another 10 bhp the guy said, cos the tunit box is fully customised via a laptop, so once i got them both on and got it back on the rollin road, it can be adjusted i hope! lol:devil:

nice one, that looks wicked, which is best, the panel or the induction kit?

Some induction kits have been proven to be worse than the standard factory kits. On some of them rr proof is available. There is only a few induction kits that offer a substantial improvement.

The BMC CDA is quite good when applied correctly, which is not as easy as it might look. The BMC DIA is the better choice but again needs to be applied properly. Working with the CDA from the time when it was released first, we found that most applications suggested in the brochure need re-design to release the full potential of the CDA as well as the DIA.

Usually a replacement filter improves performance slightly, which is safer than just getting any induction kit.
