Just ordered my GP diesel sporting and was wondering if anyone knew of a company doing induction kits for one. Also going to get it chipped by angel tuning has anybody had experiance of the remap and what is the car like afterwards, is their much decrease in fuel consumption, much difference in performance...Also is the angel tuning the best company to choose...Many thanks Mike..

hiya mate, GSR (user called oldschool) is hoping to be finishing their IK off for the 1.9 sporting pretty soon i think, so i am waiting for that. as regard to the angel tuning remap, seems to get 170bhp up from 130bhp and the torque rises to 335Nm up from 280Nm. There is a user on her called fiat-faster-than-you-know or something like that... he has it and has very good reports about it. the other company is celtic tuning, they offer 190bhp and 303lb/ft of torque, not sure what that equates to in Nm, but it's more, but some members seem to have expressed concerns about stress on other parts of the engine and what the out-come will be like.

cheers, david.

There is no nead for an induction kit if you are having the ECU remapped, as the engine power can be increased a lot further than the clutch will last without spending additional money.

We have now done over 15 GP 130 Sportings and have developed and honed the mapping on the different software builds (yes different builds already!!) and have done thousands of miles of real road testing with them (we have a donor guinee pig with over 25k on it now) and know what the long term affects of wild bhp and torque figures will do as we have tuned this car to the limits and back. These cars have regular full diagnsotic checks performed and have always had a clean bill of health since the correct power levels were attained.

The fuel consumption reports are good though, with owners improving their mpg as expected by 2-3mpg. On the testing we did, we gained 2.3mpg doing a 200 mile round trip and most of that was sat in traffic on the M1!

how much is your map matey? and just out of interest, what was the highest figures you achieved? any idea of 0-60 times etc with the final map you have done on the GP??

cheers, david.

Prices vary as to when you have it done and where. Highest figure we tested over distance was 375Nm and it didn't last too long before we detuned it.

We did testing for the Auto Italia feature about a year ago but I can't find the figures or a copy of it! The mapping has been fine tuned since then, but overall speed hasnt changed. It was around the low 8's, but I can't verify the exact at the moment and it was a long time ago!

thanks mate. i'm not that fussed about the times tbh, just wanted an idea of what the extra performance did to the car. once again mate, thanks alot.

cheers, david.

p.s. how much is the remap from you?

im interested in remapping my gp and was also told that angel tuning was the best.takes the bhp to 180,celtic tuning take it to 190 BUT it puts extra strain on the clutch so stick at 180....!!!!! nobody makes an induction kit for the gp,tried everyone.

sorry to go off topic but just wondering if a re-map is alvaible for the 1.4 T-JET engine yet?

Re:performance exhaust

does anyone know where to get a performance exhaust from for the grande 1.9jtd? tried all over,no one does a back box.

BMC do a panel filter and an induction kit iirc for the 1.9. and angels remap will take the power to 170bhp and 262lb/ft of torque, not 180bhp. celtic offer a 190bhp map and iirc takes the torque to 303nM, (not sure what the lb/ft figure is)

its the torque that is the limiting factor for the GP, not the BHP, bhp is just how hard the engine has to work to create the torque figure. (could be wrong though!)

angel is widely regarded in high opinions on this forum and others, but there is also red dot racing who offer a map too.
