when you take your car back to the dealer to repair a fault, do you have to book it in? or just turn up and say "oi, me cars fooked"

I'd always ring first and book it in. You might get lucky going to the dealership first but you will more than likely be told it needs to be booked in.

My car is booked in for friday to have the boot lid looked at (first time) and the brakes as there rather noisy (especially when braking in reverse!). Fingers crossed it will get sorted!!

''Honey Im Home''

And back it goes this time to FIAT themselves @ redditch they rang me after 5hrs (Quick Time compared to original dealership) to tell me that the welds are shafted on the top skin of the boot lid, so it goes in again time number 8 to have the welds re done. they have also re ordered back seals and windscreen wiper seals so here goes!!!!

and about the brake light my dealership has to re cut out the brake light and put it back on again without sealant to solve the problem!

if my car has to go back in any more times i will refuse to have the thing! unless i get a NEW shiney one so im praying it'll get fixed.

(Replaced boot lid from another car on forecourt)
in reply to this, my dealership let slip that thats what he had in mind for mine!!

Well mine has done 9500 miles now and still noisy!! When i was booking it in the woman on the phone said, without hesisitating, we have plenty of the brake kits in so should be sorted quickly. So it would seem they are well aware of the problem.

Seems like quite a few people are having this problem.. surely Fiat is aware of this by now?

nothing wrong with mine

Mine's fine too, but spare a thought for those with this problem - I would consider it to be a serious fault compared to say squeaky brakes or nonsense error messages..

Hope a solution is found soon (y)
