Technical Water in boot lid? Grande Punto Active Sport

same prob as me by the sounds. Mines back in on tuesday for the third time.

Also noticed a creak from the drivers back wheel when going over bumps along with the black plastic sticker jobby on the bottom of the back bumper, starting to bubble and peel off.

Hmmm turning into a mare this i feel:mad:

Hi,
I don't want to tempt fate but mine does seem to have been fixed! I have had no more leaks since the wiper arm seal was replaced in January.
The dealer even threw in a free respray of the boot due to the damage caused during the fix, only after I pointed it out and then rejected the respray, total time to fix 7 days! They did manage to loose my red dot on the badge but can't be bothered to go back again. Even in the heavy rain we had 2 weeks ago it was all dry.So far no water on parcel shelf and none in the boot floor area.

In answer to how bad the leak was, it had damaged the light switch, but there was not a lot of water in the boot compared to the courtesy car they gave me, which was soaked and water was pouring in from the lid. Mine was not as bad as some are describing here and there was no water trapped in the boot lid itself.
To add insult to injury though when I went to collect it the second time, after they had rectified the poor quaility respray on the boot, they had power washed the car with the passeger door ajar and soaked the footwell!

boot light switch is controlled by tailgate lock so obviously water ingress at connector.I would like to see Fiat place a cover over this lock as when this connector gets wet it can not only prevent tailgate opening but make boot light stay on or not come on at all.

Has anybody had water leak repaired fully 100% yet?
Not yet my good friend i am awating further tets of my GP @ dealership has now been in 6 time with water fault
Had brake light re sealed
Had whole rear window cut out and re sealed
Had whole tailgate re sealed just waitng a downpour now to see if any of it had worked
the threat of taking the dealership to court and me having a new vehicle has made them take it back in for 2 weeks of testing to get the problem sorted

If anyone had had a full fix please mail me [email protected]

Fingers crossed this time then?

Its strange but different fixes seem to fix different cars, there are 5 possible causes I know off but nothing definate to fix them all.....weird:confused:

Well mines in at the mo, going to have a new brake light fitted tomorrow so we will see eh. So far Ive had the back window re-sealed twice, wiper resealed and now were going for the brake light.

Oh well, heres hopin!

Right here we go!
my GP has now been in 6 times and still no fix it came back to me on Tuesday of this week after the 6th time in at dealership.

we had a downpour of rain last night and the boot is now leaking more than before i also have video footage if anyone wants to see!

So today (Thurday 14th June) i took it to another dealer this time (just a Fiat dealership not a franchise) in Redditch and have been warned that when they sealed around my brake light with sealant this could potentially stop me changing the bulbs of the brake light and in turn 'could' cause an MOT failiure if the bulbs blow.

water ingress is not and should not be a normal process in any car as i would have thought longevity would be top of FIATs list of priorities. i am now in contact with a gentle man higher up in fiat aftersales :worship: (will give anyone contact details if all goes well)

my GP has been booked in for more tests @ new dealers next week after my holiday so this time i am hoping!!! there was talk of new bootlid?

Oh forgot to say the seal around rear wiper blade has split and water now runs down the inside of the window when you open the boot!

Why did I have to say mine was fixed!!! It had leaked over night, now there is water on the parcel shelf and trapped in the skin of the boot. I will have to go back to the dealer again. I know its not a big fault but it is very dissapointing on a new car to have to bail the boot out.

Well mine is now fixed.

Fix you say, well im sure the dealer has put another boot from another car on the forecourt on to my motor. They deny this however a scratch they made on my car 3 vists back has vanished and so has my Punto badges red dot. Along with the rear parcel shelf being removed and the car stinking of sealent, it seems that they changed the boot door and put my back window into it.

Ive brought this up with them but they assure me its my boot however I dont believe so. I have reported this to Fiat UK but dont hold any hopes of it going anywhere.

Very sus, there apparant fix was to replace the high level brake light however im doubtful this was the fix or even completed.:bang:

I hope I don't get this with mine! It's an hour and a half round trip to the dealer. Don't fancy doing that five times because of a dodgy tailgate.

At least it's fixed and your scratch is gone (y)
