Hi chaps.

Had a wierd problem this morning. Got in the car (1.4 dynamic 5 door), turned on the engine and a few of the lights stayed on, petrol gauage stayed at bottom, no temp, airbag failure came up on screen. Also, when indicating no lights on panel or ticking noice (but the actual indicators did work).

I tried to turn the engine off and on again, same thing. I was late taking my daughter to nursery so drove anyway. Went into the nursery (took 5-10 mins from engine off to back on) the car started fine. I've since had it off and on again and ok still.

This happened once before when I had the car about 1-2 months. That time I left it off for 2 mins and it was ok. any ideas? Is this something a dealer can fix as part of warranty?

2nd issue: I noticed the fault sticky above. I notice a squealing noice on my brakes (i think only when the where is wet). Is this again something I can just get fixed as part of warranty?

I have an appointment for 2 weeks for the car to go in as part of the recall so if I need to get anything else done then that would be a good time.

Thanks in advance chaps. Regards..

Karl

Yes the squealing noise can be fixed under warranty and is easy to fix.

When the lights came up on the dash did the rev / speedo work also? If they didn't its a very easy fix at the dealer only takes 15mins it was either a proxy-alignment (connect diagnostics and reset onboard computers) or a loose earth lead on the body computer I can't remember as it did it on my GP Sporting:

Your dealer will sort you out.

Also well done for looking in common problems (y)

:yeahthat:

Good idea to give them a ring before though, just to let them know you want the other stuff investigating, that way if they are common problems (the squeeling brakes are) they can make sure they have all the gubbins in, it would be a shame to have to make two journeys.
