Technical my many grande problems

I promise paragraphs in future.......in the meantime here is some more info regarding consumer rights and Rejection.

As you can see its a minefield for the average guy with no hard knowledge on the subject. What is written in the passages is basicaly what I was told by my Solicitor. Try to reject a car on your own and without this knowledge and you have no chance whatsoever of getting a result.

I am intrigued by the silence of the chap who made the initial post...........
Having posted his problems and the time people have spent in trying to offer advice, i would have thought a reply from the guy would be appropriate, as T has already asked for.
If not, (and i hope this is not the case), is this just someone using scare tactics to create hysteria about the some of the issues that we already know affect the GP?
If the guy replies please feel free to delete this post T, otherwise should this whole thread be deleted as it really serves no purpose and is just going over old ground?

No need to delete Chris, everyone is entitled to their 'say' & experiences, however we have had alot of malicious posings on this forum recently. Now i'm not for one second accusing 'fraggle' of this and like I say I hope he (she?) elaborates on the problems they have been having and discuss them with the rest of us but similar postings like this have been made to not only make the Fiat forum look bad but also Fiat themselves.I hope this answers your question 'Daver',I think you will find me more sympathetic than most;)

Sledge...."I am not going to go into the details here because my previous posts on the subject have all had a strange tendancy to "disappear"!!"..if you feel any of your postings have been edited or removed please feel free to question this with myself or any other moderator if you so wish.Any posts that have been edited or removed, the poster has been PM'd to this effect with a detailed reason why.

The fact I have had postings removed in other threads is all in the past. Whilst true, it is irrelevent to the content of this thread but not to the comment I made to Fraggle and I have no intention of questioning you as to why previous ones have been deleted. I am quite capable of forming my own opinions as to why, which I will keep to myself.

The topic of Rejection has been brought up in this thread, and not by me I might add. Can I ask you as a sympathetic Fiat employee to comment and give your views and experience on Rejection and ask why in my case, it took the threat of legal action against my dealer to bring about a satisfactory outcome to my situation? I will be happy to elaborate and answer any questions you may have short of naming names. I will understand fully if you refuse or "choose to sit on the fence".

a tech wouldn't realy have a lot to do with the rejecting side of things.

dont fall out with each other, wait till the op comes back, they might just be here to stir things up, and if every one starts falling out then they will have dont what they wanted, if they are gueine then we can find out more detail when they return.
remember T is here because he has had more experiance with fixing GPs than the rest of us, its un fair to ask too much of him on the not tech side of things imo

Sorry that this is digressing slightly, but I haven't had any faults and I love my GP!!! Definitely not a 'Friday' car ;)

"gives extremely poor fuel consumption, spending £ 60 a week in fuel."

Not trying to be funny, but If fuel consumption was important I would have thought you would have gone for the Multijet diesel......

not much differnce TBO i am disapointed with the fuel consumption on my 1.3mj 90 low 40's most of the time, ragged the ba**s of a modeo hire cat last week and got close to 50 mpg out of that so buy a petrol and avaoid the turbo lag

had problems with mine but having come from Peugeot 307 ownerhip the gp still has a long way to go to be at the dealer as much as that car was

Sledge...I am well aware(as are you) why you have had posts deleted in the past,if you are still not happy with the situation, which I assume you are not as your comment in post #13 suggests then please take it up with a moderator. It is not a matter for discussion on a public forum.

As for a 'sympathetic Fiat employee' may I point out to you that I am NOT a Fiat employee,I do not get paid by Fiat,I do not have to answer to Fiat or neither am I told by Fiat what to do.I am sub-contracted out to whoever needs me therefore I cannot answer your question on 'rejection' because (as Dave stated) that is not my 'department' although I do have a 'role' in this in the sense that I correct any mistakes/customer concerns on cars.To date I have yet to have one 'rejected' afterwards so again no I cannot comment on this.

I have 2 comments, firstly Dave? In no way is it my intention to fall out with anyone or stir things up. I think it true to say that there may well be quite a few GP owners at "loggerheads" with their dealer out there and as I found a very quick and efficient way of resolving my issues with them I simply want to give the benefit of my experience to others.....after all, we are all here to help each other and offer advice.

It seems I jumped to a false conclusion. After reading a comment once made by yourself stating "When I joined Fiat" I had always assumed you were directly employed by them. The fact you are not although interesting is a misunderstanding on my behalf.

Hello everyone, I have just joined the forum to see if anyone else has been having problems with fuel consumption on the 1.4 8v grande puntos. I noticed this posting but there does not seem to be any details of the milage that is completed (just £60quid - is that over 250miles?? 2500 miles???).

I am currently getting 35 mpg out of mine and I would in no way describe my journeys as 'urban' (list urban consumption is 36.7mpg). Has anyone else had this problem and had it rectified?

Appologies...it should read "When I came to Fiat".

Yes,as in when I became 'heavily involved' in Fiats/attending background courses in the same way I have with other manufactuers.Product knowledge if you like.

The topic of this thread is someones, who we still dont know despite this person visiting the site 3 times since starting this thread...yes that strikes me as strange) punto problems,by all means feel free to write up a 'rejection' thread in the 'lesuire lounge' section as it will apply to all models/cars.

I appreciate the suggestion, might just do that when I get some time and if you think others may benefit. I am not some consumer rights activist or a legal expert but I do, as you can probably tell tend to umbrage when I am wrongly done to and I learned a long time ago that the legal way is in some cases often the only way.

I am pleased to say my GP is now behaving as Giovanni Agnelli, God rest his soul, would have wished and the issues with my Dealer have been resolved. To prove I am fair, in reciprication and as a sign of good faith I have assured the Dealer principle that I will be keeping the matter to myself as I realise reputatations are paramount, (I may have badmouthed them but note, I havent mentioned their name) and I will not take my future business such as servicing etc elsewhere if his standards are maintained which he assures me, will be.

The car was a 40th birthday present for my wife and the fact she didnt take to it as a result of the problems didnt help, but now that she has confidence in the car....I cant get her out of it!

BTW.....if anyone is interested Its a 1.2 Dynamic, N-O Blue, blue interior with fogs & locking cap. Its was an unused dealer pre-reg on a 56.....Drove it off the forecourt for a gnats over £8k with a years tax and free MOTs for life.

I can't better 35 mpg around town, but i do get 40mpg+ on normal driving :) .

You do have to drive it like a gran to get really good mileage out of it. I have had 50.4mpg, but that was on the motorway doing a steady 70mph the whole way. Was the longest journey of my life!! :bang:

The more miles it has on the clock, the better it does become though, so if yours is new there is hope for you yet ;)

lol, well if nothing else, there is certainly some 'advice' on this thread. Hope you can use some of it to good effect and get your car sorted to how it should be (y)

Have a good browse through the rest of the forum and you'll probably find most of your questions/queries/problems have already be answered ;)
