No warnings on computer, display etc.

When I turn the ignition on, a beeping noise comes from the engine literally - after about 30 seconds a valve noise clinks a few times. After about two minutes it turns off.

But like most of the time I haven't got two minutes to wait, so start it up straight away and it remains on untill I turn the ignition off.

Which model is it? I had the diesel sporting and it didn't make beeps but I could defiantly hear a valve and liquid squirting noise which I assume was the fuel pump pressuring the fuel lines ready to start the engine.
 
It's coming from the engine managment plug area, it's a 1.4 16V sporting.

Oddly, if I let it go on for roughley two minutes (during which a valve can be heard clinkin open / shut) then it stops, drives ok as with it on. But when it starts with choke, comes off it drops really slowly bit by bit if I wait for it go off.

If I don't choke goes off quickly.
