since the weather has got a bit colder after the car has been parked for a while the windows become wet on the inside havent had it on any other car I have checked the carpets and floor for leaks but all ok. I told my dealer and he sugested I leave the air con on all the time but this has made no differance they are all wet not just the screen

any ideas

Tom

lol, have just put a similar remark on another thread!

I don't have air con but experience similar problems, on some days it can be really bad so I carry some kitchen roll in the car to help soak up the water from the windscreen, but like you I cannot find any eveidence of leaks anywhere.

Does seem odd.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I carry little else in the car so the dampness is not coming from any items hanging around in the boot etc.....

I had the same problem when mine was new.....could only think it was all the standing around in Melfi and then the damp sea air on the way over.
Driving with the heater full on AND the air recirculating button OFF and sometimes driving with the drivers window open 3 inches, to let the very moist air out, cured it...but you've gotta give it a few days.
Now there are no problems.

my car is about 6 mths old so it is not moisture from new sometimes the windows are running with water after a trip with heater on if left for about an hour

Wouldnt it be better to have the air re-circulating button on as essentially arent you bringing air from outside of the vehicle into it and therefore would demist quicker?

Ive got the same problem tried a house size dehumidifire one afternoon kept it at bay for a day or so and its just as bad again, i tried that Rain X anti mist what a waste of time that was (n) i have found that leaving the blower set to the normal vents when leaving the car helps and not on to the windscreen..

Makes sense. Will give it a go and see what happens(y)

It's a well known fact that it actually works the other way around and there's a big bit in the G. Punto handbook telling you this.

if you re-circulate the air in the car then your just moving damp air around.
You cant use your aircon below a certain temperature either.... i think its about 3 degrees.

my cars got the same thing, just have to put the blowers on full blast to the windscreen for ten mins and then change it to the normal setting to blow in your face.
Air con works a treat for condensation as it removes moisture, hence the puddle under your car if you turn it on and leave it in the same place for a while,
but if you read your handbook it does tell you the operating temperature.

:yeahthat: aircon does remove moisture which is why evaporator is fitted.

Try closing air vents aswell, worked on few of my old fords:rolleyes:

I only use recirculation when going past farms/sludge tractors :yuck:

Interesting, never realised this.

As i dont have a GP i cant consult the manual, however went on past experiences as a suggestion.

However will bear that in mind for the future for my own car (y)

Yeah, I know.....it's amazing how many people drive around with the 'Recirculation' button on.....kids in the back, windows slightly steamed up.....it's very dangerous.
