hello, when i use the wipers, the right wiper leaves a long smear right across my view, its bout 2 inches thick, and when it rains i have to try and pear over the top of it! i think its catching on the edge of the windscreen because it looks like its jumping a bit, so maybe thats made the rubber bit bent or something, i dont know.

anyone had this problem?

I would recommend keeping the wipers clean at all times and that the rubber 'holds' the entire length of the blade. And if its aged its probably a good idea to replace it (think of it as being cheaper to replace a scratched windscreen) ;)

yea i cleaned the wipers a few times but that doesn't seem to be it, also the cars only a few months old lol so it can't be that, thanks anyway. i bet you dont get to use your wipers much in australia :p

Yes - I have noticed a similar smear. Not rained very much when I have used the car over the past 3 months, but it is very annoying, particularly when restricting visibility at night.

The wipers are new with the car, and I cannot see any obvious signs of damage on them. Last Saturday I gave the windscreen a really good clean, in case there should be any residual wax protection on it from when it was shipped. It hasn't been out in the rain since.

Any further comments appreciated.

you're right andrew when driving at night in the rain it's pretty dangerous. we should really get it sorted at the dealer but i cant b bothered to drive down

as for the vinegar trick ill give it a go

Mine does it too:(

Another negative to add to the list:D

deeyup

So does mine

Doesn't happen anywhere else in the screen but just where i need to see through:bang:
It only started happening when i took it to the dealer to get something else sorted and they washed it and now it happens.

This happened on a car of my Dad's - a ford :( . He took it back to dealer who then proceeded to clean excess wax of the blade which had been left over from the shipping protection stuff. Worth looking at, if it has done it from the start.

i had this problem.
i went back next day of getting my car, and the man who sold it got service guy out and demanded a new one to be put on. the guy literaly walked into showroom and got the wiperblade off the showmodel and put it on mine. i think the rubber part was slighty bent and therefore didnt touch the screen right!

thanks gents, ill give it a go. shall we use vinegar then?

Well I have now had another chance to carefully clean the windscreen - I have also carefully cleaned the wipers (with vinegar). I have also removed the wipers and closely inspected them - and I can see no defect. Put them back and the problem is still there!

It seems like a trip to the dealer - but I do wonder if this is a design defect. The long sloping windscreen also makes this problem more noticeable.

Has anyone found any other solution? (I know a change of wipers worked for Bell13, but in this case it appears there was an obvious bend in the wipers.

Hi guys, just for the record, I have the same problem with my wiper, exactly where you look through when driving, nowhere else! (typical). Very annoying when driving in the rain (or this time of year period).

No problems with blades here, but jsut noticed the central washer jet is a dummy - no nozzle - no tubing - nowt ! i feel deprived now :(
