Just came back from Dealer and tested my car.

I realized that Blue&Me girl speaks to me on Italian laguage and as i understood it recognizes only italian voice commands too

I don't understand italian at all! By the way user manual is on English!
And of course i expected to have Blue&Me with English voice too!!!!

I'd be very happy if somebody can advise me what to do.

Thanks in advance:worship:

P.S. SOrry if this thread is in wrong place.

Don't worry! :p. When i got my car it spoke english but the USB port snapped off so I needed a replacement B&M unit. Once replaced I pressed the menu key and nearly s**t myself when it started spouting off italian!. Took it to the dealer they were confused and didnt have a way off correcting it except order yet another unit this time with english voice data on .

Good luck with the dealer(y).

Yup, the dealership will correct it.....software glitch....you can wait.........takes 5 minutes.

Great! Thanks!

I thought they would need to replace the hardware...

I'm currently waiting for my dealers to stop faffing and get my B&M sorted as it's speaking Italian (ChrisUK's old car).

They hadn't heard of the problem before so I've got to let them work it out - when I spoke to them last week they were getting hold of the software from Fiat and were going to test it out on their demo car. I've got to call them on Friday to find out how they got on.

Good luck with that (y). My dealer (Reg Vardy) where quite unco-operative and didn't really seem to care . If I still had the car I would play hell. Should be a simple case of software update with any luck as its a known issue on the new Alfa's too.

Let us know how it turns out, so I can show this topic to my dealer and replace the Italian lady in my car to a UK one. ;)

I have the same problem and the dealer said that they will be ready to sort it out next week.

Until then does anybody know how to say 'call' and 'dial' in Italian? :)

Just had it sorted on mine :D

They had to upload some language files to a USB stick, which they then plug into the car and it updates itself. Took about 5 minutes.

If you have trouble with your dealer not knowing what to do, you could try asking them to call Desira Fiat in Norwich (01603 633222).

PM sent. Can't wait for the files. You did a fantastic jobs. Congrats.

Thanks in advance. :D

BTW new2fiat, do your know which USB port was used for the UK speaking lady upgrade, the regular one, or the one the service uses?

The files were given to new2fiat as a back up if he required them in the future. They were not intended to be passed around as the files are for a particular system and will damage non compliant systems, so if you use them then you really do run the risk of buggering things up. As new2fiat will agree we had approximately 50 pages of info and some of that was on how to sort things when things go wrong in the update, also the system should then be proxi-aligned after the update has been completed (using examiner). The usb pendrive goes into the right hand usb socket, the customers connection is the one on the left. If you need help or instructions then contact me.

Yep, fair point...didn't think there was any harm in helping people out at their own risk, but I won't pass it on....don't want to harm anyone's cars or breach any copyright.

As said earlier, if anyone needs help please contact me, and thank you to n2f for being understanding while we got the files and prepared everything for the upgrade. Its nice when customers are happy with what dealers have done, and even nicer when they take the trouble to let people know.
