I have exactly the same problem; last time I visited my dealer he said there was a loose nut/bolt somewhere within the steering (don't know where exactly) and it had supposedly being tightened up. However it still makes the small knock/thud when turning the steering either to the left or right, so will have to get it looked at again the next time I drop in.
