Hey peeps

Im still working towards one of these cars. Just wondered has the Grande Punto's reliabilty been looked at against rivals? eg(Fiesta,C3,Ibiza or Polo) Just interested if there is anything on the web about it?

Thanks

Jonathan

Trouble with the review sites is that the only people who bother to post a review are the ones with an axe to grind who have had problems.

They're ALL very strong in some areas and weak in others
.......generally speaking, apart from obvious crap brands like Kia, Proton, it's very hard to buy a completely rubbish car these days - the standards sooo high.
Fiat's strength does seem to be that 'mechanically' they do keep running....weakness seems to be that bits of trim fall off or unimportant things stop working.
It's all just common sense really......

Such as for mine, one side of the top vent not fitted/locked in properly. Its not life threatening, but just annoying. Other than that I haven't had any reliability issues (so far)..

I think Superboy summed that up nicely. The Seat has a better standard of trim build but inferior mechanics with things like Brake Servo distribution units failing within a year and a host of other 'VAG' faults which I experianced on my Skoda Fabia vRS also which is why I only owned it 5months and 3 of them where waiting for my GP .

I have been driving Fiat Puntos for 10 years now,...more than 150.000 km in total with these cars and what I can say is the following:

Engine side never let me down.....Not once(y)

Build quality of course is not perfect but you get what you pay for....

it is abnormal to request from the low priced Punto the quality of a German car (for example) which is much more expensive...

Apart from the above, my last comment is that all cars have their black holes and nobody is perfect...even the most expensive ones...
