Right had my 1.9 Sporting for three weeks now, and about a week and half ago when the weather really turned cold, I have had a problem with the clutch pedal sticking and hesitating to release, worse first thing in the morning, so its a bit of bitch to drive and especially to park.

Obviously I phoned my not so local dealer where I bought it and they seemed to know what the problem would be - some spring needed adjusting, good news I thought.

Anyway take time off work to take it in on Wednesday, wait with it, say they've fixed it, get in it took it away still slightly unconvinced, but gave them the benefit of the doubt, but about quarter of the way home realised it was no different - a tad annoying.

And if one more person at that dealer who I speak to tells me "you sure its not the carpet mats causing it" - yeah definitely, "are you sure" am I stupid? - I will lose it!

Knowing Fiat over the years and there knowledge and not getting things sorted, has anyone else had this problem?, so I can give them a steer in the right direction to sort it out!

Cheers - James

May not be related to your issue, but I have a small but irrating intermittant creaking/groaning noise when using the clutch pedal. Seems to occur towards the end of a journey. Dealer commented that there is not much to the mechanism. They applied some grease. So far this has not rectified the problem.

So did you get it fixed?

Nope! Still not fixed,

been back another 2 times, but as yet none of the parts changed has fixed it.

Gave up with useless dealer with a bad attitude (Westover Fiat Salisbury) I bought the car from, did I say they put the wrong numberplates on my car?! was driving with false plates for over a month!

Its going in to hopefully be fixed this thursday, gearbox has to come out this time etc, - taking it somewhere I trust though.

Really annoyed with Fiat and lack of care, been driving a car which has been a b*tch to drive pretty much from day one - over 2 months!

Kinda taken the edge of getting a new car and being able to enjoy it,

Will do a strong letter of complaint about the car and the dealer I bought the car from once fixed.

Right I'm really starting to wish I'd not bought this car,

Got the car back just before Christmas, and although the clutch feels slightly better, and I'm still not convinced, I'm sure its far from how it should be.

Basically its still very soft, its just got no punch to it, and there still is a bit of hestitation,

Its nothing like my dads Stilo clutch, or any other clutch I've experienced,

Can anyone with a 1.9 Sporting confirm this is not normal charactaristic?
I have not been able as yet to compare with another GP.

I really can not keep taking time of work to get this sorted, I mean 4 attempts to solve this problem is ridiculous, I really can't be bothered with the hassle which I should'nt be having on a 12k car.

Time to reject it? 3 months on after the problem was first pointed out and still not right?

Your car uses a twin mass flywheel (which can make clutch feel different),self adjusting clutch with a wear recovery device.I would advise trying to get a drive in another 1.9 (dealer got one?) before going any further.

Keep us up to date.
