Styling Couple of neons behind my grill

Speaking as an old fart, I don't see the fascination of fitting blue lights or LED's. The only reason, it seems to me, is that you are trying to look like a police car to some people otherwise there are so many other colours you could choose from, why choose blue? I don't think it's the best or coolest colour. As for driving with fog lights, don't start me off! Don't you know they're only legal in fog or falling snow ?? They are dazzling to other drivers in normal conditions and, if you need to illuminate the road ten feet in front of you, then you're looking in the wrong place, you should be looking much further down the road. OK, rant over for the day.

Speaking as another old fart - by the standard of most on here anyway - I agree whole-heartedly. When I see cars driving along that seem to be floating on a blue neon wave I can't help but think - why???

Fog lights are annoying and dangerous when not properly used, and mobile phones - don't get me started - I see at least 4 people a day using them blatantly - why don't the police - with proper blue lights - stop them instead of stopping someone doing 3 mile over the speed limit?

And people throwing assorted rubbish out of the window, including cigarette butts - makes my blood boil.

And caravans and tractors and lorries and mopeds and ...

Thanks - my rant for the day over.

well gentlemen, actually i agree with you on most things. Whenever i see kids with neons under their cars it looks so stupid, especially coz most of the time they're driver rubbish old 1.1 litre cars. I think the neons i put on are not too in your face, they give it a nice subtle glow.

And as for those t***s that drive with rear fog lights on (illegally) when it's only raining and you can still see ordinary sidelights half a mile away - thats another thing that makes me see red - literally !!!
Donnie, can't see what colour your car is but why not make the lights match the colour of the car? That would look cool I reckon and keep you out of serious trouble with the plod, you could use white lights with coloured gels to get the colour right - well, that's my customising tip for the day (y)
Of course, when I could have joined as Young Boy-racer, customising meant doubling your BHP with an engine strip and re-work, different carbs etc. lowering and stiffening suspension, widening arches to take wide wheels etc. Sadly, I guess insurance companies have killed a lot of that off.

No the modern way to make your car faster is to fit a K&N init
Several boy racers i know cant use a screwdriver properly and as for wiring their neons/ Subs / head units leave a lot to be desired surprised they actually work.

And the fact that most cars have more computers than a Jet fighter and multi injection rails means stripping the engine and fitting a Webber twin carb is a No No

As for the Rear fog light comment i know one Muppet who owned a Ford Ka 1 thought the Front main beam were his front fog lights and he holds a driving licence..

Spotted the Police pull one lad in a brand new Fabria VRS onto our work car park and do him for having a silly font on his front and rear number plates, The copper even went as far as to Poloroid photograph his plates then go over the car with a fine tooth comb

Actually the way to make your car go faster is to fit the sub facing backwards driven by a 1000 watt (peak music power) amplifier. The big bass notes then push the car along...............

my cars red, i did think about gettin red ones but i couldn't find any shops that sold red ones, and as always i was too eager to wait! but even if i did get red it's still illegal. i wish i never bothered with it all now, i never have them on, and i can't get the rubber seal that has the wires for the lights etc, back in so its just hanging around lol

Red would be worse. They would not mess about if you were displaying a red light on the front of a car, you would be stopped all the time.

Not sure that's the case, I suspect the Plod only get upset if they think you're tring to pretend to be a police car although any colour other than white is technically illegal. Good choice by the way Donnie, red like mine shown here ; https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-grande-punto/83860-these-alloys.html

very nice, but i think i prefer the originals sorry :p how comes you've got that black strip along the side?? i think this car looks best in red, i thought about orange but the dealer said "you're brave, it will be more difficult to sell" so i changed to red.

Hey not a bad idea looks pretty nice.

To clear the neons and legality side of things it is legal to have neons on your car providing you can not see the source of light and that it is not strobing/pulsing etc whilst driving. And that you do not show red at the front or white at the rear, other than this neons are legal (y)

I've still got the originals so I might put them back when the tyres on the claw alloys wear out. I'only put them on to see what it looks like but decided I quite like it and, at least, it looks different to everyone elses.
The black side protectors were already on it, the car was in stock as a cancelled order, although they are an option. I know some guys think it spoils the look but I don't mind it, I think it makes the car look lower. I prefer them simply because I've had so much problem with w*****s bashing doors with their doors or shopping trolleys so now I feel slightly happier leaving the car in Asda's car park!

I have neons

I also just bought an Alternating headlight kit... so it makes my full beams alternate like a police car... i just want to pull peope over (at meets, off road, of course) also mounted some blue flashing lights in the corners of the windscreen... i love this kinda stuff :D

paint an empty roll of toilet paper blue, put on your dash, there you go you're imposing police car...
this looks much nicer btw ;)

you will get fooked royally if plod discover its fitted even if its turned off

If you remember i had amber strobes in my back window so wasn't holier than thou either but took them out after some wider reading into the law however the police recommend you use them if broken down.....

that looks good imo personally with a red car id have gone for red neons but after seeing how much brighter they are than my crappy leds ill get some for the same place, footwells, and under car (on a switch for show use only etc)

a mate of mine fitted a police cyron (how the hell do you spell that?!?) to his citreon saxo VTS... apart from been funny as **** when people started pulling over for a saxo, if he had been caught he would have got into trouble... is it really worth it?
