Got my GP on 1st September 8.30am!

Previous car was a Subaru Impreza - I ran this for 142000 miles without any problems - it was fast, handled superbly, never broke down, started every time etc but was absolutely characterless - the GP is the complete opposite of this as I am sure you all know

When looking for a new car it was going to be a Mini or a VW Beetle but on seeing the GP the deal was done on the looks alone - and it is in the SUb Zero category on the cool wall on BBC Top Gear

I just hope the build quality and reliability are up to scratch

But - I chose the Jungle Grey colour (Silver) as this appears (to me) to suit the car the best (red also) but there does not seem to be any others of this colour - where are they ?

I have never really had major problems with any of my Fiats, niggles that give character, but nothing to cry about. The GP is a fun car and stands out on the road. Last night I drove to the chippy, the guy behind the counter went outside, came back in again, and said "nice car" which was followed by lots of questions. I have done 4500 reliable miles in my JTD Sporting and loving every minute.

I agree with you on the character. A mechanic in the fiat workshop couldn't believe I swapped my Skoda Fabia vRS for a GP Sporting and thought I was nuts. I said the skoda didn't have an ounce of character and handled like a front heavy bag of spanners, the only diesel hatchback I know of that comes close to the GP's handling is the Focus Sport diesel.

The GP has loads of character, i would advise though not to expect imprezza handling or power, and maybe the quality of the interior to be exactly the same :p
