Too expensive to build factory/employ us here, also Italians would go mad unless us here who happily let goverment steal & give away/sell our car/motorbike companies......oh anarchy there dangerous dangerous! :D

Yep few trim problems which happen at this price of car, annoying that they are but no breakdowns that I know off (y)

I have had no other faults except the initial software glitch that lit up every warning light on the dashboard and made the car undrivable for a while 'till it fixed it's self

I don't if I am noticing it the more I live with the car, but I have a 1.2 16v multijet 90 and the Turbo lag is starting to p**** me off. It is very difficult to drive smoothly. ie nice steady acceleration and the waaaaaaaah don't know if its just mine but was going to mention it to the dealer

All the probs seem to be due to lazy Italians not putting the cars together right, then leaving it to our british boys to sort out the problems!

Solution - Build a Fiat factory in the UK!! :D

Did you ever see any of the cars made by British Leyland?

Yes, but stayed well clear of them!!

My qoute was said tongue in cheek............but there is a spare factory going cheap near Coventry soon and they know all about putting cheap cars together there..........

At least they won;t go on long holidays over the summer so I can get my new steering rack fitted! :D

i tried startin the engine a couple of times the other day but wen i turned the key it just made a beep and said somethin about liquid in the engine or somethin? so i turned it off then did it again and it worked. so the computer was lying to me

My squeeling brakes aren't fixing themselves.
Plus, my new xenon kit arrived yesterday:slayer: , but on checking
the aiming (headlights) buttons last night, if found they don't move
at all!!!

Needless to say, can't fit my new lights until this is fixed. They'll only
blame fitting aftermarket lights as the cause won't they.

I cant risk burning someones retinas out with the lights not being
down turnable either.
So i'll have to book it in.

deeyup

Just a little update

Got a date to go in for my drivers window switch, so hopefully will be able to open it properly again after the 23rd September!!!

Oh and I had a problem with my uppie downie thingy for my lights also, but I was moving at the time so I'm gonna try when I have the handbrake on.

Hope your all well

Nath :D

Update on mine all my noises are gone but im a little concerened about my steering rack I think ive got a s***y one. My glovebox is better but not 100% but its a lot better :). And i've got a replacement control unit on order to replace the broken USB port on my Blue&Me. They say it might take up to 3days to fit it!.

Got my 1.4 Sporting at the end of June and have done 2600 miles. It's a cracking car but the pleasure hasn't come without some minor pain as you can see from the list

  1. Brake Squeal - fixed after two visits to the dealer
  2. Groan during low speed brake - fixed after two visits to the dealer
  3. Underwhelming Aircon - fixed after three visits
  4. Misaligned bonnet - fixed after one visit
  5. Faulty door lock - part on order
  6. Screen washer ineffective over 5mph - under investigation
  7. USB socket not working - fixed once and recurred, now under investigation
  8. Various warning lights - under investigation

Nothing too major and certainly nothing to make we want to slag Fiat about - they've always worked hard to sort the problems. The aircon took a while but have just got the car back from the dealer today and its perfect...and of course it came back washed...well done Benfield Motors :)

Rob

i'd be really really p***ed off if i had to go to the dealer that many times lol

I've kinda got noisey brakes but could this be down to it being a new vehicle and still running it in - only approx 50 miles?

I had noisy brakes from new - only at slow speeds - had it fixed, it came back, had it fixed and its stayed away at around the 500 mile mark. Dealer said it was dust - see how it goes but get it checked out with any other niggles that you might have.

As I mentioned earlier the pads require molycoat grease on the back of the pads, its not due to dust.
Hope you enjoy your car in the future as you do now (y)

Well....

Brake Squeal!!! This is very annoying and seems to be at low speeds like others have said on here. I have had huge problems with my local Fiat dealer who has informed me i will be charged for them looking at my brakes as they say it is "brake dust" therefore not covered in the warrant, even though the car has done it from the day i picked it up! After informing them this wasn't possible, they just said tough, you have to pay!!!

Other problems, the button on the centre console air vent has fallen off and i have had to go to another dealer twice for this part, however i still have not recieved this after 5 weeks. The dealer said the Fiat factory in Italy was closed in August for 4 weeks, therefore they cant get my part!!

I have complained to Fiat about these dealer problems, however, i have heard nothing since!

Normally when you meet a group of people for the first time you say Hi & introduce yourself:rolleyes:

Anyway....Hi Orlando...welcome to the forum:wave:

Now after meetings with other techs & Fiat officials the low speed brake squeal can be cured by molycoat grease.....if your dealer does not know about this then tell them to read their service bulletins!

**See Fiatexpert's post 41 below**

No.....you dont have to pay,its under warranty.

Yes the factory does shut for a month.....parts are stocked up in this country but after that the central distribution centre has to wait to be restocked once the Italians go back to work after holidays.

I doubt if you will get a response from Fiat because your dealer should be adequate in dealing with these problems.

p.s.there is a 'newbie' section to introduce yourself to others on the forum;)

well, as i've said in another thread, not quite got my car yet (though it is now at the dealer), but first and quite major defect is that they've fitted drums instead of discs on the rear...

Sorry T14086, im new to this forum thing, i didnt know about introducing myself, i will go and do it, sorry again.

Thanks for the reply though, i will go and tell them about that, i couldn't believe they are treating customers like this, when they must know its a common fault.

Thanks again
