hi guys...for all those people who are annoyed that AAC will not play on blue and me i have a solution...i think lol

Go on the edit tab on itunes. Click preferences. Then click advanced, and then importing. you will see something which says importing using....change it from AAC to MP3. So from now on any CD's ripped to itunes will now be in MP3 hopefully. PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Now the ones already in AAC. Highlight the songs and then right click...you will see something which says convert selection to MP3. For some reason tho it creates another file the orginal in AAC and the new one in MP3. just delete the top one...Now there all in MP3!!!

Hope this helps...jskn

Unfortunately, what you fail to explain is that AAC files downloaded from the iTunes site are protected and cannot be converted to MP3..

Please please, if someone from Fiat is reading this I'm sure there are many Blue & Me users out there crying out for a software upgrade that will allow the stereo to play AAC files off their iPod. Just that tricky negotiation between Apple and Microsoft to allow rights.. ah well, can live in hope!

sorry that is true! i did forget to add the bit about itunes...but at least it helps with any files put into the library with cd hey? i mean thats helped me alot!

I'm pretty sure that you can create/burn an audio CD from yuor tracks downloaded from itunes music Store. You simply then need to rip them back from that CD as MP3s back to yuor hard drive - using software such as Musicmatch or indeed itunes itself - ( but set to rip in MP3 format.. )

Best to use a CD RW though - unless you want to keep the audio Cd you create as part of the above process.

yep u can do that for the protected files. so problem solved hey?

get a program called "Limewire" it is usually quite quick and there is also a setting that allows only downloads of "Legaly" obtained MP3's :D

Beware Limewire  . Limewire is basically a file sharing program that allows users to share stuff across the internet. I tried it at the suggestion of a colleague to find hard to get music. It is notoriously bad, however, for also picking up unwanted c**p by way of viruses (n) . If you use it online, make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and you have a firewall set-up to block intrusion attempts on your pc from the net. Legally speaking of course :whogives: , any sharing of music files is, by the letter of the law, illegal even giving your mate a copy of your latest CD that you've bought at Tescos !!

i've used limewire for 2 years and havent had any probs with it, but then again i use a mac, and they r wayyy better than pcs :p

OK Mac brigade, the Mac is technically better and most viruses seem to be aimed at Bill Gates' wonderful Windows operating system. I have pc's that I've built myself which is something that's not really possible with a Mac. I just wanted to give a few words of warning to the unwary about using Limewire and other file sharing progs especially if you're on a potentially "always on" broadband connection which many people are nowadays. There are people out there who still don't use Anti-Virus and/or firewall software (n) .

Guess that depends what you pay for them. I've upgraded my mini (which I got as an Apple refurb for 99 quid) to 8Gb by changing the hard drive - ok, the old one stopped working after I dropped it and I think it's great :p
