I reckon the GP could be a real stunner with the right bodykit and wheels. Would be nice if it took of in the way the Saxo did for Citroen and lift FIAT out of the red. Probably won't happen though.

reason the saxo took off though was the years free insurance :(

You didn't get the year's free insurance on the VTR/VTS though. It took off because of the VTR, it was a low insurance group so youngsters could insure it, whilst being quite nippy.

Not keen on that kit at all :yuck:

Give me the wide arch abarth any day

Plus the GP has already lifted Fiat out of the Red its just whether they can launch other models and keep them all selling to stay in a healthy posistion....

i like the car except the mirrors/list/ wheels, shame the rear bumper is illegal aswell ( no reverse / reflectors )

i just dont think it looks "mean" enough, its still the CHD kit for me :D

Why the dump valve too? It's a diesel.

What you mean why the dump valve?. Its actually a BOV (Blow off Valve). Its a Diesel "Turbo", Dump valves / BOV's where invented for all TURBOS regardless of what fuel runs them. Perhaps you should read up what a dump valve actually does eh? :chin:

I've worked on enough turbocharged petrol engines to know what a dump valve does thankyou very much. A TD engine doesn't need one does it. All it would do on a TD engine is create lag.

Again its not a Dump valve on that car... its a Blow Off Valve they are different.

And how would a Blow off Valve create lag on a diesel and not on a petrol im intrigued... especially when they usually use the same turbo's. Mine for instance is a Garrett M28 VGT which is also used on petrol engines upto 2.0L.

And if your theory was correct why did installing a BOV on my car actually help with turbo lag and general driveability?

Back on topic as the car goes the body kit is disgusting.... but then again every kit ive seen for it so far is.... the only one I can tollerate is the NFS kit. And the shopping list thing is ok as long as you have all the bits on your car...... which inturn doesn't make a shopping list but rather a check list for pikeys to steal everything .

Dump valve or blow off valve or whatever. They are used on petrol engines to prevent the compressor wheel from stalling when the butterfly on the throttle closes on a petrol engine by releasing pressure from the boost pipes allowing the pressure to equalise on both sides of the compressor wheel allowing the turbine to continue moving. As a turbo diesel engine has no throttle on it the air does not need to be released to the atmosphere or be recirculated as the turbine will continue to turn and the engine will slow down in it's traditional manor. Thus the compressor wheel will not stall.
