Has anyone else noticed a strange vibration linked to the revs when the air con is switched on on the 1.4 16V. Generally I notice it when decelerating or when the revs drop while changing gear. I know air con affects a car's performance but not sure if this noise is meant to be there too? Any suggestions, or should I go through the hassle of taking it to the dealer?

I don't hear some strange noises but I can feel some vibrations on brake pedal when AirCon is On and car is not moving. I don't know is this OK or not.
Also I can notice that AirCon is affecting performances of car quite lot in second gear.

It will cause a small vibration when operating but you will notice a drop in power as air-con system will 'steal' around 7-11bhp when fully on

And you will drink more fuel, in the summer mine was doing a good 4 mpg less with the aircon constantly on.

I was doing 70 on M6 in a ford KA...and I kid you not I put the air-con & fell foward almost as the car lost power,speed fell to just over 60...switched it off and you could feel the power rolleyes: ) return...crazy!

Good for keeping you cool in summer though & demisting in winter

hi i have the same problem but not with the air con but with the re-circulation and makes a very annoying noise when it is switched on it doesn't do it everytime but when it does i just have to switch it off, if u take it to the dealer send a post so i know what the problem is unless i get there first!
