tonight i fitted my K&N induction kit to my 1.4 Active Sport Grande, and it all worked well for the first 10 minutes test.

later on i decided to give it a proper rum in and drove 3 mile to my brothers and there was a strong smell of petrol in the cab and when i turned the vents on!

after looking under the hood there is two breather pipes! (which i put breather filters on) and the one that comes directly out of the engine block smelt of pure petrol and was fumes/mist stuff coming off/out of it after talking to the father in law i was woundering why is it doing this as the breather was full of petrol and fluid and woundered if i can block this hole and just use the one breather on the other hose!

ill put pics up to show exactly which hose i mean but any help would be great fully apretiated!

this morning i was talking to a few mates at work and they said my car shouldnt be spitting petrol into the breather and mine is the first car they have seen with a breather coming out of the top of the engine!:(

im not really too fused about the MOT as i chance not to have the car when its due;)
 
Sorry bit off topic, my car passed its mot this morning with an oil breather, did the law change recently?
 
silly question but it is a K+N specifically for a GP isnt it?

K+N arent really good either for some fiats if you read the forum (y)

no its not designed for the GP i sorta edited it to fit. i used a escort rs turbo air box hose to bring the filter over to the side of the engine and on the small breather pipe i added a breath and there is a larger breather on top of the engine which i also added a breather on! its the that one that is spitting fuel out and really stinking and was making me feel nautious and fait so i had to put the air box back on!

what i was trying to ask in the first thread was is this supposed to happen as i could literally pour it out when i took it off :confused: ? is this excess fuel ment to go back through the air intake or not? also would it break if i blocked it because the part the hose is connected to is a bolt looking thing so i could get a solid bolt to block it! im on charging the camera now so i can get some pics
 
thanks for your help custard boy but ive found a brilliant way around it, which will work :D

im going to get a pannel filter because ive seen a few companies with them for my car and im also gonna drill my air box abit lol:p

ive put the K&N on chrisuks gPunto sporting mjtd and it sounds the nuts and actually makes a difference!

also which filter company is best? ive seen pannel filters made by: Green, K&N, pipercross to fit my car i just dont know which one to get
