Just installed the text message reader in the car.....really clever stuff... Blue & me just gets better and better.
Really easy to install aswell.
Anyone else installed it?
Just installed it as the instructions said.. i'm using a Sony K800i.
When i get a text it gives me both the audio sound (which is the same as the phone) and on the dash display.... press ok and it reads it out..
Do you know if theres anyway to see the message as Text in the display rather than it being read out? i don't think it can be done but worth asking.
Hmm... someone else said they were using a sony ericsson k750i and that works fine too. Sounds like the kit was developed/tested with sony ericssons only lol! Anyone else had any luck with any other brand of mobile?
As far as I know it can only read the msgs to you. This is probably because an extra long msg might have you wrapping your grande punto around a lamp post because you werent looking where you were going
Ive got a SE k608i here that im selling for my bro today. Im gonna have to test the msg reader with this and see how i get on.
Yeah the SE k608i works fine and your right its a great bit of kit. If someone puts xx at the end of the txt then the car says kiss kiss cool! Just need to get it working with nokia's now!
Just checked and there is indeed one on the right hand side of the glove compartment but it's underneath a clip-on plastic cover whereas the one on the left just has a rubber cover. I've been using the one on the left to play mp3s from a pen drive but just tried the other one and that seems to work too....
Anyone used a phone other than a sony ericsson with message reader and got it working? I cant understand why it wont work with the nokias ive tried. Arnt nokia the market leaders in mobile phone come on fiat release an update!!
was never told about option of this feature it sounds very good, the bluetooth part is impressive and i havent seen it in another car in the same class yet so fiat have done well there
Got a sony ericsson M600i smart phone on an upgrade because the k608i I tried worked. But the M600i doesn't work either!
It started of well by pairing the phone and saying it was gathering the phonebook from the phone. Except everytime I tried to dial out it was still saying gathering phonebook please try later or dial a number. After 30 mins I gathered something wasnt right.
I deleted all the user data and started again. This time the system wouldnt give me a pin so i had to disconnect the battery. I then repeated the process and it stuck on gathering contacts again.
I deleted everything again and this time I refused the system from gathering the phonebook itself and sent the contacts through the add contacts option. Now the phone works for bluetooth but im still left without msg reader!!!!
I tried to update firmware on phone but it already has latest firmware available. Anybody know of any new updates for blue&me as all the phones I like dont work with msg reader which is really getting annoying!!!
