I picked up my GP yesterday and i have to say that it is lovely, nice to drive etc.

But when i unlock the doors its only the front doors that are opening the back doors remain shut, then after a bit of arsing about they open. Is there something about the locking that i havent realised or is this a fault?

This is "standard" on most GP's, just open them in a fast pace.

Cheers, that done the trick. No more opening the doors slowly or me then.

I had a similar problem, took it back to the dealer, and they shortened the cable, and now the doors open easily, only needs the handle pulling halfway to actuate the mechanism.

How do you shorten the cable? if you put a knot in it then it now has a weak point.The ends have soldered hooks on them & clip into a non adjustable linkage.

Forget about the cable! the official/unofficial cure is to glue washer on top of the lever that the handle rides on. I've tried all sorts, washer pipe cut and placed in cable support, works o.k but if your really slow opening the handle it will still stay closed. Rubber hose around lever works well! It won't be long before there are modified levers.

Still it's strange that if almost all GP have it that FIAT didn't solve it before they started selling them.

I,ve got the same problem,bought my Grande Punto Eleganza brand new 4 months ago, and still trying to get the Garage i bought it from to sort it out.They should,nt sell these cars with these faults, it,s so frustrating. Can you please let me know if you get it sorted. Cheers.
