Hi, i have a 1.3 turbo 90BHP GP, ive had noticed (and read) that it does have a bit of turbo lag, however sometimes it seems to take ages to pick up, especially if pulling away in a low gear. I have a friend who lives out in the sticks, and has a twisty windy country road that leads to his place, On the journey to his place there is particular junction which is a right hand turn which is uphill, in our old car this was always done in 2nd gear, however in the GP both my other half and myself have stalled the car in 2nd taking this turn, it just seems to have no acceleration when you try to accelerate out of the turn, before the turbo gets chance to kick in the engine is stalled ! I know the obvious thing is to say take it in 1st then !! but considering i have taken that turn a million times in various cars in 2nd, it seems strange and a bit annoying that the GP cant do it !! especially as it is a diesel with more torque etc.. anyone got any thoughts similar experiences ??

Hmmm thats strange, i dont personally think it should do that. I drove the 1.3 90bhp and it certainly didnt struggle in 2nd because it revved so quickly through first you had to make a gear change pretty quickly or it would nearly red line....

get it checked out at a dealer, its under warrenty, say theres something not right, it could be a number of things but dont worry about it to much get them to fix it, part of the bonus of buying new!
