I made a small video of a 0-100Km/h (0-62.1mph) sprint.

The time of the video itself is like 13 sec. but I timed it with a stopwatch and it was 12 sec. The car has run just 600 miles so I'm sure I can scrape a second off when the car has run in completely. I also have to find out what are the ideal points to shift gear but unfortunatelly I don't own a race track to try it over and over again. :(

So in the end it will probably be around the 10.9 sec that is in the specs of this model.

i should do one of the 1.4 8v ;) - its bad enough holding the phone to take a picture at this speed. IMAGE_019.jpg
think i was doing 5500rpm or something

Not bad,.....considering that the previous Sporting 1.4 16v which was a lot lighter was abt 11 sec (the 9.6"on the brochure just never really existed).....

A time around 12"is realistic,......What draw my attention is the sound of the engine.......sounds too much or is just the video sound not so realistic?

Really, after the 100 km what happens? does the car have still power lets say to go 140, 150 easily or the tongue comes out...?

Any opinions on how this will compare with the 1.9 model?

The sound is not realistic. It's made with my SE Mobile. Just listen to the gearshift it's like I was beating it with a hammer. :p I don't know what happends after the 100km/h as I couldn't take the risk on that piece of road. In Holland it's very easy to loose your drivers license and even your car.

Daveharris, look here for a video of the 1.9 model: CLICK

The 1.4 16v pulls well all the way to 155Kmh then starts to get a little sluggish. Just back from a holiday in France, got 165Kmh flat out in sixth. Car felt stable, if I had dropped to fifth I eckon the 178 top speed would have been doable....

I don't know what to think about performance of 1.4 16V Sport. For weekend I made more that 1000 km and car is behaving differently. I reach 183 km/h and I feel that it can go more, but on some occassions car don't like to accelerate like in other occassions.

Except that car is very stable even on 180 km/h and it is real fun. I can only imagine how interesting can be with 1.9 Multijet Sport.

I disagree, I used to have the old 1.4 Sporting, 9.6 was about right, perhaps quicker with a light load maybe? I timed it a few times, it was always around that figure.

TROOPER , I don't want to argue but you know that the difference between 9.6-10 to 11 is not very easy to determine by self measuring.....the time i speak about (11" for the 0-100 km comes out of the usual measuring unit .....the car was officially measured in track) anyhow, our point here is not the old 1.4 punto but the new GP,.......:slayer:

*watches video*

isn't the sporting punto meant to have white dials on the dash?
:p
