Hi guys.
Just picked up my GP active sport on friday after an 8 week wait and i’m loving it, there’s just one thing: i’m thinking about having it lowered as i think it looks like its sitting a little too high on it’s suspension. The 15’s look fine but there’s a big gap between the tyre and the wheel arch. Does anyone have any information or advice on this as i’ve never had it done before. Cheers!

I can give u some info regarding lowering .....

I currently drive a Punto Sporting MK2B 1.4 16v which I bought 2 1/2 years ago. After 2 weeks I decided to lower the car and did as follows:

I bought the Koni height adjustable suspension kit (shock absorber and spring together in one piece) for forward and the Koni yellow (sport) with relevant springs for the back.

The forward can be adjusted from abt 2 cm - 7 cm lowering. The back depends on the springs you choose.

In my case we lowered the car abt 4 cm front and 3 -3.5 in the back.

It looked nice, and handling on the road superb! like a nice train....:slayer:
Firm on the corners, excellent in highways with high speeds.

However, in our Greek roads (not the best in the world)...is not so comfortable. Must sacrifice some of it for handling and driving fun...

Since this car is now ready to be transferred to my sister and she doesn't like it so much lowered, last week I went to the same workshop and brought it up a little bit. so now is about 2cm front and almost as original back.

Much more comfortable but driving is not the same any more.

I can also tell you that my brother with an Alfa 147 120 hp did not lower the car but upgraded the handling with Bilstein shock absorbers........real good / stiff.

I have heard from friends that KW Suspensions are also very good but no personal experience.

Of course you must have in mind that everything adjustable costs.....
