Hi All

This is my first post to these forums.
I ordered a Punto Grande 1.4 16v sporting today. I can't wait for it to arrive. (3 month build) i can't believe the amount of toys you get for the price. i test drove the 1.4 active sport and that was nice in it self, but the sporting looks superb.
I'll be honest that i've never been a great fan of Fiat but this car really has changed my mind. i hope it does not disapoint.

Has anyone else ordered a sporting?

I'd love to know some more info on blue&me and the usb port? any one got any official info on it or has a car with it.

Look forward to your responses.

Lee

The Grande Punto section is full of threads concerning Blue&Me, just use the search function in the navbar and you''ll find all the info you need ;)

Has anyone else ordered a Grande Sporting 1.4 16v? How long was you told it would be for delivery?

Thanks

I've got a 1.4 16V Sporting on order - only put the order in last Tuesday though. I didn't ask the dealer how long delivery would take mainly because he's told me before that he hasn't a clue and Fiat UK didn't know either. He did however tell me that they (RHD 1.4 16Vs) literally only went into production last week so I'm going on about a 6-8 week wait.

You might have read in other threads that I had a MJET 1.3 16V on order before (which I made at the end of February) and it was only going into production last week so I decided to switch to the Sporting. Don't expect to get much out of your dealer or Fiat UK as they're a bunch of muppets.

As I've learnt over the past 3 months the best thing to do is sit back, be patient and try not to think too much about your new car because it will only make the time drag on. Will be interesting to see who gets their car first so keep us posted on your progress!

How long til you get you diesel?
What extras did you order?
I was gonna get the climate control but decided to stick with the standard aircon.
Do you know if i will be able to connect my ipod through the usb port?
What colour did you go for?
Post some pictures when you get it.

Cheers

Hi Rob

The salesman showed me on his pc that there were chassis's ready to build. He thinks our car should be built by mid may with delivery to the dealer about 4 weeks after.
Lets hope we are one of the firsts cos i'm sure it will be popular.
The good thing is that they don't list the 1.4 16v sporting in the brochure yet.
Did you order any extras? what colour?
I'm really looking forward to getting my punto in time for august.
Let me know how yours progresses.

UK was late with the 1.4 16v(s) because here in The Netherlands it has been available for quite some time. If everything goes according to plan my wait for the 1.4 16v was about 12 weeks.

If you mean me...
Cars due in early next week, but i should have had it weeks ago cause it kept getting delayed :(
Only extra i went for was the leather interior
They say Mp3 players can connect with the usb, but you will have to wait and see. It seems that the blue&me can be updated.
I ordered mine in exotica red

and i will post pics if i ever get it!

Nah, haven't added any extras, very well equipped as it stands anyway. Was thinking about adding the subwoofer for the stereo but didnt want any more delays, leather would have been nice but doubt you'd get it back come resale, climate control isn't really worth the extra in my opinion and although the skyroof sounds good, it adds a fair bit of weight and not sure about its reliability.

Ordered mine in Crossover Black - looks the business, see Courtster's car(y)

Also hoping that I'll be able to plug my iPod Shuffle into the USB but I think there's quite a few questions surrounding the software - again, see Courtster's thread on Blue and Me for the whole debacle he's been dealing with on his Sporting.

Hello all, this is my first post.

I ordered a 1.9 td sporting yesterday! I also originally wanted the leather upgrade and climate control and locking fuel cap, I was told that there was a 3 month build time for the spec I wanted. After I'd agreed that I wanted the car the boss came out and said I could have their sporting in the showroom which was in the colour I wanted, although it didnt have the extras I wanted.

In the end I they said that in the future if I want the leather, they will give it to me at the upgrade price of £600 if I still wanted it which I thought was good. So I put down a deposit yesterday, going to see the bank manager tomorrow and will hopefully pick it up by next weekend! I was amazed at the speed of the 1.9 td, really quick!

Heres a couple of pics of my future car:

i saw the option of a locking fuel cap, i thought that when you lock the car with the remote that it locks the fuel flap.. am i wrong?
i guess i can buy it after.

Looks great but doesn't the locking fuel cap comes standard in the UK?

No it doesn't come standard in the UK. I got it chucked in for free but its something I need as we have jealous neighbours, who've put sand in our tanks before

I dont see why not.

I was pleased that they offered me the leather, but I think that was because I wanted it originally. I think I'll see what the standard seats are like, I like the look but I prefer leather as its firmer

i got myself a good deal...i used to work for bmw and vw/audi before that..i was in the motor trade for 15 years so i know how sales depts work..i really hope you didn't buy the supaguard or diamond brite.

Can you explain further what you mean by this statement? Will they actually remove the seats and door cards (including airbags) that were installed at the factory, and install leather ones and the armrest? I believe the armrest is connected to a different centre console so would have to change that as well?

Nice work on the car - I hope you negotiated a good discount on it as it was unsold in the showroom.

Well ideally I wanted the leather, but I got a good deal buy getting the one on show instead, he then said If I wanted the leather in future that it'd be no problem. I said to him that it would cost more though and that if it was more I'd rather wait. So in the end they basically said if I want to upgrade to leather, I can buy the actual seats from Fiat for the upgrade price of £600. I made sure I explained the situation correctly and he said yes that wouldnt be a problem. I think its because they wanted to get their April sales figures up they were willing to offer anything!
