Its offical, dealers just rung to tell me that Fiat have admitted that they have lost my new car

As of 5.00pm today nobody at Fiat knows the wareabouts of it.:bang: However it will be someone job tomorrow to go a find the car at report back to me.

If anyones seen a New Orleans Blue Grande Punto Sporting that looks like its lost can you let me know.

I'm lost for words.

I bet its sitting at the docks along with mine :(

Have you asked for compensation for the hassle?

I'll ask them if they've see a Red one when they call tomorrow:D

waiting to see what happens tomorrow, insurance on my current cars up for renewal Friday and tax at the end of the month so if its not sorted out sharpish thats nearly £600 I'm going to have to fork out.

You can get a refund on your insurance surely if you take up a new policy with someone else?

The one at my local dealers is new orleans blue

Reading this and other's experiences (mine included) you got to beg the quesion how competent Fiat's distribution is.. How can you lose a car?? They had a good few months between Italian and British launch to iron out any problems.. What is more, having read another of the recent thread, how could they deliver a car covered in dents and chips and feel happy letting a customer drive off in it?

I love Fiat, but this is a real knock to customer confidence - they've got a great product in the GP but what's happened to the logistics and the management? I'm sure its the last thing a dealership network wants when they're trying to resurrect their already fragile reputation. Now they've just launched the Sedici - shouldnt this have been delayed?! Maybe I'm overreacting but hope that Fiat Uk are taking note of our concerns and doing their damnest to sort it out.

Theres one at my local dealers, delivered yesterday. It's blue, the light metallic blue.
I didn't think that you could have a Sporting in that light blue (Psychedelic Azure - try the Fiat website configurator) unless you can have that colour as a special factory order?

Do all cars that have been already sent to a dealer (but are still unsold) show up on the Fiat stock computer? My guess is that it could accidentally have been delivered to another dealer; why not phone up some other dealers asking if they have a spare New Orleans Blue Sporting for sale, and if someone has one (maybe not THAT one but you could be exceptionally lucky) then cancel your order and buy it from the other dealer.

Goodnews, they've found it (y) Bad News its still waiting to clear customs(n)

Turns out when the car was put on the boat in Italy at the beginning of the month, instead of updating the tracking system to show this, it was entered as being put on a transporter to the dealers.

Hopefully car will now be with the dealers early next week, as he has spoken to the transport company and they told him they have a priority on Grande Punto deliveries and have also been working overtime to clear any backlogs.

After reading multiple threads about delivery quality problems i'm beginning to wish I hadn't bothered ordering a GP Sporting. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and I dont think it's even began to be built yet :(. I think im going to be patient and wait it out but if there is so much as one scratch I aint driving it away.

Its the age old problems of reading a forum, all the problems get posted but not many good things ;) I wouldn't worry too much about it :)
