General Waiting game for GP!!

...now I'm waiting for a Grande Sporting.

"Apparently" Fiat are upping the output, especially on the Sportings - I was told yesterday by the local dealer principal. They've been caught out on how popular the Sporting has been in general. Well at that price and the discount I got with all that kit..... Good old Italy :)

D

i ordered my 1.9 sporting black over 6 weeks ago told would be here in 2 weeks time end of may, they dont even know when it finishes production, only that its at stage 16, 2 weeks to go more like 2 months at this rate:bang:

and my leather seats take an extra 2 weeks are they killing the cows as well
what the hell is stage 16 argggghhhhhhh

Trust me its worth the wait :D :D , I ordered mine on launch day 11/02 and collected it on the 05/05 exactly 11 weeks to the day.

Poor old Bob ordered his the same day and he still hasn't got his yet. Think a lot of the problems is actually getting the cars to the dealers from the docks once they are in the UK.

Believe me iti is worh waiting. I was waiting for mine around 6 weeks but it was not factory order.

I have 1.4 16v Sporting and sound is great, also whole package is great.

just been informed by my dealership that my car is now in the UK, however it will now be the end of the month before I get it :bang: , was supposed to be the start of the May.
Apparently Fiat held back any new orders by 1 month in preperation for the new blue & me software, which I have been assured is on my car.
What didnt help was that the dealership I ordered my car with also went into Administration, but are now trading under a different name, so I will still get my car. (What a pain in the backside).

Picked up my GP this morning and it's great. One of the first 1.4 16V in the UK apparently. Engine is still tight but it's amazingly refined and barely audible at tickover, performance is as expected, much more lively than the 8V I roadtested a few months back.

The car also has Blue&Me fitted although they've forgotten to secure the USB port to a metal bracket in the glovebox so it's rattling like hell at the moment. Nothing a couple of nuts, washers and bolts can't fix luckily. Another problem is that there doesn't seem to be any manual on how to use it, are we meant to guess or has the dealer just forgotten to put it in? Tried connecting my phone but it needs a code which I also haven't been provided with. I connected my iPod Shuffle and it started playing but the steering wheel controls don't seem to let you advance the tracks which is a shame. Can't have it all.

One thing I'd like to stress is that aside from the USB port everything appears to be very well screwed together and it feels really solid. Aside from the slightly numb steering it drives very well and despite the 17" wheels rides very comfortably. Will post pics in the next day or so.

well done...i cnt even see the 1.4 16v on the fiat website!! wts goin on? is fiat not wanting to sell their nicer engines!? also how can you check what stage the car is in (production wise)

Blimey! That was quick for a 1.4 16v. Hope you enjoy it :)

The Blue and Me should have a manual so yours is missing. When you select pairing, the system should show a 4 digit PIN. Search for Bluetooth connection with the phone and then enter the PIN into the phone and you should connect.

Hmmmm. I ordered GP Sporting early-mid May, was told it would be here late June. Yesterday I was shown the Fiat comp screen and it's still not even on the production line... so now it'll be late July. Waiting game.

Saw a very happy customer picking up the dealers first delivered Sporting though, it looked fab in the Orange... and wow it really is Orange. :D

Here's my car in all it's shiny glory, going to be a job keeping it looking this good! Enjoy -
