General Delayed

Well that's refreshing - some honesty from a car dealer!! Yes, I felt the same, like this dealer actually wanted and needed my business. I was also sold the car by a female - she was great, unlike the mostly macho tossers I came across elsewhere.

The dealers who have national coverage I think are the worst. They are so disorganised and lack any confidence inspiring ability. I think they sell cars to sheep, generally people who don't know what they want and kind of stumble in on their showroom without reading anything about the car first.

It certainly pays to do your research (do your 'Research' - gettit?!) before buying!

I find it amazing that there are people out there like that, but there must be or there would be no need for Kia's and Chevrolets (nee Daewoo)

To be honest I was doubting between a Kia Rio and the Fiat GP. Luckely I came to my senses.:p

Glad I ordered the GP Sporting with Leather interior, looks superb in the vid, first time i've seen it properly as the dealership didnt have any in. (With Leather) :slayer:

Delayed till next week now :( :(

Bob, whats going on, I spoke to my dealer today and they don't have a clue where my car is  I've got so hacked off I rang Fiat UK and have logged an offical complaint because of the lack of information being given to the dealer and the fact that they can't give me a definate delivery date. I'm starting to wish I'd bought the Fiesta now. Not good (n)

The dealer explanation to me was that fiat are trying to deal with a massive back log of orders from March. He rang fiat uk for the shipping information today as he was expecting a transporter in friday and then it just never turned up with out even telling them it wasnt coming.

He said the woman he spoke to said theres so many delays they cant ring all the dealers to let them know as they dont have the man power, so theyre waiting for the dealers to ring them. Bit of an arse about face way to do it

I am a bit annoyed but i wouldnt say im hacked off just yet... I cant really blame the dealer himself either as it purely seems he's not being fully informed him self and he's trying his hardest to keep me in the know of what happening as well, so hats of to him :)

He's got 6 cars that are delayed now and he said all of them are here in the UK but theyre just sitting at the dockside waiting to be prepared!

Whats hacking me off is not knowing, i've just found out more info in the above post than 3 calls to the dealer and 1 to Fiat UK.

Has to be something of a good sign for Fiat that they cannot keep up with the March orders unless they:

- Expecetd to sell not that many in the first place.
- don't have the physical manpower to import/prepare/deliver an anticipated number of cars.
- Are having problems on too many of the cars and send them back or fix them off the ship before passing them onto the dealer to avoid the GP getting a reputation for problems on delivery.

To me it sounds like it's worth holding on before ordering one until they can get them to the dealers within the anticipated time frame.
