Dear reader, I bought a semi-automatic Fiat Punto a while ago, and after a few miles the problems started; The car went into neutral while driving and a warning light came on with: ''have gearbox checked, check manual'' and then the car went into reverse / gear very hard. What could be wrong, and is it possible to fix it?
And is it still worth keeping this Punto alive?

Thx for the response. I think there’s a leak in the transmission robot.. seems like it Doesnt make enough pressure.

Thats sort of good news

The pump and its switches obviously work.

But you shouldnt have that fluid leak

Look in the Grande Punto section for info ;)

Great :D. i went to the garage the other day, and they told me that the whole transmission robot has to be replaced which is 1700 euro's without TAX.. They've found oil behind a plate. I'm not sure if it's the right translation, but he called it a triangle plate.

thx for the response!

Today I sat in my car to see what exactly is wrong. After checking everything, I walked out of the car and found out that I had forgotten to close my window. I then put my car on the ignition, and did not start the engine.

But it turns out, on contact it just switches well, and it also goes into its R without it shooting out. I'm not a car expert so I really have no idea if that's always the case, but this seems strange to me. Anyone any idea?
