Is 300 to much to ask for an 06 1.9 jdtm that needs a gearbox but comes with a second hand one.

Selling or buying?

Quite a few things to mention, despite the gearbox issue, does it have MOT?, is the clutch and flywheel damaged or overly worn? - those parts alone wouldn't make it worth it for most, especially if they're reliant on a garage to replace and fit the new gearbox.

No mot

Clutch was ok till I took the self adjusting pressure plate off to check if ok and seemingly according to the mech I use won't go back on. He said it's a one time fit so now needs a full clutch kit inc flywheel ie 450-500.

Car is overall in good condition I know what you mean though about garage bills unless you can do it yourself.

Or is it worth me keeping and doing what I can myself.

That's not a bad price for a clutch/flywheel kit.

Can't speak for the car, but the 1.9 is a good engine, I had the 20v version in my last car.

If you decide to keep it sure everything's in good working order before you sink loads of cash into it.

I notice you didn't mention about the self adjusting clutch, maybe you know.

It's overall good condition with no rust ect.

Anyway, if I did decide to fix and keep it or would be for me not monetary or financial gain, that's out.

So it's time to decide
