I've been at it for days on and off and just can't get the o/s shaft out the gearbox because I'm sure the the bearing is "welded" inside the alloy mounting carrier.

If I can put a blow torch on it will I ruin the bearing, if not once heated how will it come out as there's still general corrosion on the shaft from the bearing to the gearbox therefore when getting put pulled out, the corrosion won't slide out through the bearing if you see what I mean.

I've honestly no idea how this is going to come and seriously thinking about selling for spares ect.

Didn't think anybody would know.... the pass side is the easy one that everybody does but not the drivers.

Is it not retained by a bolt on bearing retainer plate?

Don't know what you mean but there's 3 Allen bolts at the back of the shaft plate at the bearing and 3 torx/ribe bolts holding the mounting on the back the block.

As I've said before, everybody knows about the pass side but not much about the drivers.
