Hello again.

I've had a long running issue that I'm hoping you can help to shed some light on for me.

A while ago, the car started taking 4, 5, 6+ times to start, then once it had started would run well enough.

Got an engine warning light, got it hooked up to a computer and the code came up as a Coolant Temperature Warning, so had that part replaced.

A short while later the same error code came up, and the engine continued to take a few attempts to start.

On occasion the temp dial in the dash wont work, but it starts working again next time I use the car.

My friend, who is a car mechanic suggests it could be the MAP sensor, but before I buy the sensor I'd just like to your ideas.

Thank you.

Hi Charlie,
I tried to copy a link to a thread recently and the link ended to completely different thread, has that just happened with your link?
Cheers Jack

No..

I would encourage anybody who gets a fault code to scan the relevant part of the forum for peoples experiences.. expensive dead ends.. and odd fixes

My old mareas immobiliser glitch as a prime example ;)

In that case apologies.
Must be a problem with my phone browser taking me to bravos in motor sport thread from 2002 instead of coolant code thread.

Wholly agree with Charlie promoting the search function (-:

Cheers

Hello everyone. I need to buy a map sensor for my 06 plate fiat punto.

I've taken this code - 0 261 230 030 - off the side of the part and googled it, and Google returned one from Arnold Clarke Auto parts came that looks the same but with a different number.

BOSCH 0281006028 MAP SENSOR

Does anyone know if that one will work, or do I need to get one with the exact same code on it?

Cheers.

No proper info on that site for that part.

Use the VIN code of your car to find the right oem numbers for the part you need.
Use other part sites with beter part search (like the many autodoc related sites) or call/visit a partshop to look it up for you in their systems.
