So as above iv lost his only key iv looked at look sets on ebay they consist of door locks ignition barrel fuel cap ecu and fuse box is there anything else I will need thanks jamie

If you can get a key cut.. its @£45/£50

As the code is stored in the ECU..

ITS a simple plug in for the key cutter

I bought my Grande with no service key.. just the remote

Service key was £45 as around 10 mins work

R402faa sorry my comment doesn't help as such, but when you get a new key take a picture of the blade and upload it to the cloud or a secure place. Theres company's that will cut you a new key from the picture for around £15. Then you only have to get it programmed, hope this helps

Just get a spare.
Unless the vehicle is an old smoker, I dont understand anyone not having a spare. It's asking for trouble.

I 100% agree having a spare key is a must, but these things happen and people do lose spare keys also. taking a picture of the blade and storing it securely can save you a lot of money if you don't have the keycode.

When I brought my partner the GP it only had 1 key and this method was the cheapest solution. Brought just a basic key and they cut it to picture for £15, auto locksmith programmed it for £20.

Is the car an expensive low mile model..or a tired banger..

If its a tired banger Its barely worth the effort unfortunately..

I had this with a Honda bike..

The key turned up 18 months later.. after I had removed a lock.. and let a locksmith cut a new key to it

Bike wasnt worth any more than a tired old grande

£250+ tax is more than that..

Back in 1997 if you lost your puntos red key it was £750.. and the whole new car was probably £6,000

Thats why people claim on their house insurance for lost keys
