Hi,
I have just purchased a 06 grand punto as a helping hand for when we have to be in two places at once with the kids!

The passenger indicator has stopped working - front and rear as well as the side lights which I now know could be linked by the ECU - I have been told by an ‘knowledgeable about cars’ chap, that the fault may lie with the ECU, or wires to the ECU or even the ‘stalk’ which controls the lights and indicators.

Is this something I can fix myself or is it going to be a BIG job?!

Any guidance would be very much appreciated- thank you!

Are they all on the same side? The GP has a bit of a reputation for dodgy electricals, so it could be a broken wire somewhere near the passenger seat, where it continues to the indicator, sidelight and rear light.

Here's an image of the left hand drive. Not sure are the right hand drive electricals different.

Ok - I have heard about checking the earths but I don’t really know what that means!! So sorry - can you explain it to me a bit....

1 - remove the black plastic luggage / boot cover.

2 - there is a threaded bolt sticking out with all the earth wires connected and bolted.

3 - take wires off threaded bolt, clean the wire ends

4 - reconnect the wires to the threaded bolt and do the nut back up.

I think that's about it ?

Thanks - I have taken it to a garage who have told me there’s no output from the Control Unit.... eeeek!
