Was just cleaning the windows of my 2008 1.2 8V GP, and while waiting for the wax to dry, remembered I had some strange noise occasionally from the front right wheel well and also checked the engine bay side. But then I noticed that there seems to be some liquid leaking from the throttle body? It's a fairly new development, as I don't remember seeing anything the last time I checked around January.

I added two images. One is from the front left headlight side, showing the back of the air filter box, and the other is directly down from the first spot, showing the top of the gearbox.

I presume there's some gasket on it that could have gone bad over time?

I'm guessing you're talking about the general dampness below the air filter? If so, looks like it's actually been going on for some time from the condition of it. ie, it's not like nice clean "wet" oil as it would be if only leaking for a couple of days or so?

So my guess would be, without the advantage of being able to see under the air filter body, that it's oil mist from the breather system which feeds vapour to the filter. This vapour tends to coat the inside of the air filter/throttle body and, in your case, I suspect is leaking out past a slightly ineffective air filter to throttle body seal? Always worth a look at the breather pipe which feeds from cam cover to air filter as they are known to leak and can benefit from having a couple of Jubilee type clips fitted.

Hmm, that's interesting. The breather hose was actually replaced with a brand new one about a year ago, but I think it was with the original-style pinch clips.
