Hi, New to the forum although been reading for a while regarding a cam belt replacement, I was looking to do it myself but managed to get a quote for £165 all in (waterpump coolant and belt) which for the ease seemed worth it.

I am just looking for some advise, I have had error code P0505 come up, I believe this is to do with the idle air control valve, the car was fine and the light disappeared however now it is stalling.

My GP is a 1.4 16v StarJet (199A6000)

Would a new throttle body likely fix the issue with the stalling? I've looked on youtube for advise and it said that it's easier to replace the throttle body than it is to clean the IACV. How much would I be looking at to get the issue fixed at a garage? is it an easy job to do at home if I was the buy the parts myself?

Any advice/information/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Daniel

The possibility is that the error code persists even with a new throttle body when there is an air leak elsewhere.

Don't be afraid to ask for a quote from a garage. They know what to do. Let them decide whether or not it needs a new throttle body.

Cheers, I think I was planning the worst case, had an actual look and it is a split pipe
