Welcome.

The motors are generally ok..

But the costcutting : mixed heritage design is not great.

Worst FIAT model that Ive had.. (owned 10+ models..) but it does the job.

As I said Ive got 3 early 1.3 mjs
And a 2012 TA

RIDE QUALITY..Noise : poor
Interior :fair
Fuel economy : good

But.. they are relatively cheap to buy and run.

After 4 hour drives.. good to get out and move.. a bit deaf by then too

The 1.9 Mjet 8v should be one of the most robust engines out there, I'd love to have one:yum: (1.3 EVO multijet owner myself).

What kind of troubles is she giving you:confused:

they are cheap enough to pick up in the UK, is price why you wouldn't buy one? And since having her for 13 months, i have had to have the clutch and water pump done at the garage,
i had to change a faulty thermostat (horrible job), change the alternator (also horrible job) change the fan belt, tensioner and idler, change both rear light assemblies at different points due to corrosion and water ingress, along with loads of usual stuff- 4 new tyres, blown bulbs, dead battery. Breaks and exhaust need replacing before the next MOT as well. :bang:

wow 10!

i have had 2 mk2 puntos before, both little 1.2's when i first started driving. I can agree with you on fuel economy though, as well as cheap to buy, but unfortunately mine has cost a lot to run in repair costs

quite the collection! wish my GP has cruise control

I picked up a 1.9 Multijet Sport at Christmas. It's my second Diesel Punto. Panoramic Roof, Bluethtooth, Cruise Control, Dual Climate. Fiat have come a long way.

My first one was a 2000 MK 2 1.9 JTD, I was glad to see the back of it. For a low mileage car bought from a main dealer with a FSH, it was pretty poor and spent a lot of time with it's wheels in the air.

This one isn't perfect the Climate Control was broken, after some fault finding, I came to the conclusion it was the main control panel that had failed. I sourced one on ebay for £28 inc delivery, it works a treat now.

I have various lighting issues to sort which are either poor connections or blown lamps, but they will get done in time.

So far it's shaping up to be a decent cheap run about.
