Hi all I've got a Grande punto with a broken gearbox but have a spare EX automatic selespeed box I was going to use as a donor, by swapping out the robotics and replace with the manual selector box on top of the housing. I thought it was a simple swap over but it may seem to not be...

My issue is I cannot get 6 positions with the manual selector onto of the selespeed box. I think I may be missing reverse.
I've took pictures of inside both boxes from the top and the fork arrangement differs slightly with the position of the raised selector.

Am I right in assuming now I'll not have reverse because of this? Or better scenario, a different arrangement of gears at the gear stick??

First picture. Manual gearbox.
Second picture selespeed gearbox.

Both are 5 speed.

Hi Mike,

as you guessed and according to all what I've red on dualogic/selespeed gearboxes, they consist essentially of a STANDARD gearbox covered with an electro-hydraulic robot that replaces your left leg and arm.

The manual one being driven by bowden cables MIGHT need them to be adjusted to accomodate the forks physical layout in the interface. On some version(s) it is a plastic spring loaded thingy that needs to be disengaged with lever in a certain position and then re-engaged. The exact procedure should be in eLearn ... The couplings can also be worn-out so because of the extra gap you can't reach the last fork.

BRs, Bernie

Thanks mate.

It would appear that the clutch fork is also different.
Only found out once installed the gearbox. The slave cylinder is way off for a decent angle to actuated the fork arm.

I've tried removing the one from broken gearbox but even after heating, loobing, hitting ... it's not coming off. And to try the arm on the gearbox now in the car... never going to happen.

Ive considered swapping g over the bell housing BUT double that up with not being able to get reverse at the gearstick, looks like I'll need to get a suitable manual gearbox .

So got another gear box fitted , all gears selecting . No problem there...

Now , I replaced the slave cylinder because it was leaking and bled the new one as best I can but the clutch is extremely light.. as in very little effort to engage the clutch and seems like it hesitates to come back up the travel but does rise again
I've bled and bled again just incase there was air still in there but still very very light.
Theres pretty much no pressure under foot but it does make the clutch engage and disengage.
To me it doesn't feel right... any ideas

How did you bleed it?..pump and release style or ?...I use a Gunsons eezi bleed..its a pressurised method that has never let me down...yet...
