Basically my heater blower fan is somewhat intermittent as in either works or it wont regardless on the number it is on, I've replaced the resistor pack just in case but it is still happening. I have found that banging either the side or underneath the center console near the controls sometimes helps & having checked on a wiring diagram I suspect its a loose (earth) connection from the controls.

Before I start taking the center console apart to check for a loose wire I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a quicker route just in case it is only a loose wire?

Hi, yes I've checked the things suggested in that thread which sort of pointed me to think its a connection to the control switch its self. Although I will double check the wire from the resistor pack to the motor tomorrow just in case.

It's actually quite simple to get at the back of the controls
Remove your stereo using removal tool, or if you don't have a removal tool, bend a clothes hanger into a U shape to go through the 2 holes on each side (This is what I did)

Then you will see the frame for the radio and there are 4 screws where I have shown in red. These are torx head. Remove the 4 screws and that's it. You now have access to the back of the controls.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I replaced the heater pack but the a couple of days later found things to be the same.

I've yet to remove the center console & check the connection as its only intermittent so I'm making do with a temporary solution of slapping the side of the center console - it seems to work.

Also thinking its not so much the connection to the control but something further down as I'm needing to slap the side a foot down from the controls towards the passenger footwell (if that makes sense)

Just an update before I close this thread as it may help others with the same fault, I've found the problem.

Looks like the motor is on its way out, blower wasn't working today so I did all my usual things of slapping the console & nothing, gave the underside of the motor a little tap & it started up.

All I can say is f**ing motor bushes! it was only last week I had to replace the wiper motor because the bushes were on their way out.
