Hi, I'm having a strange problem with my indicators, when I click them on for either direction, they don't work, but if I hold the stalk just before the click, they do work.
This is only a recent development which I need to sort within the next two weeks as my car is due its NCT (MOT)
Thanks.

Did it have the 'lane changer' function?

If not.. it sounds like a broken switch :(

But worth powering down the system.

Once battery power is restored.. see if the reboot restores function

So, basically, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and reconnect, like a reboot?, I'll give it a go, but I think it might be the switches as you said at first.
At first I thought it might be a relay, but these cars don't have indicator relays, do they, it's controlled from the body computer?

I don't think a "reboot" will do anything, it's most probably a rotten switch... There is a tuto (I think in Polish) about that switch showing how to repair it.

And BTW, there is no relay for the indicators.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to the tutorial would you, or point me in the right direction, I'm convinced it's the switch. It's working again for now, but for how long is another thing, and I didn't do anything.

I think it was part of a forumer's reply not too long ago... I found this one, it's for a freemont but might be similar, if so you don't even have to remove the wheel/airbag !

The one I have,in my garage waiting to be fitted is an all in one unit,ie both sides.Steering wheel has to come off my GP to be fitted.

Yeah, looks that way, I think I'm going to have to buy a new unit, the indicators are acting very weird, sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't, and at one stage today, left and right on the stalk were activating the right side indicators, it's like there's a short, or the switches are dodgy.

Update, I've managed to source a replacement unit, and there is a mechanic at work who has access to a full workshop including all diagnostic equipment, so he's going to fit it for me, all in €85, which is about £70
