Hi guys,

Long time no post! (Stand fast my post about having a 500 as a courtesy car).

Friend of mine is having some issues with her 06 GP.

Her high-beams stay on and also trigger with the horn. RAC and a local garage (it's been there years, but I never used it).

Apparently, she's been told that she needs a new fuse box, lock and squib.

Now, I can't help but think that they're taking a stab in the dark here. There's no evidence of water in the fuse box.

I wondered whether it's an issue with the steering wheel loom?

I'd go and have a look - but she's in Grimsby and I'm in Scunthorpe. I am likely over that way at the weekend - so I might pop in and have a look myself.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, that'd be grand! (Grande? No? I'll get my coat).

I'm not overly familiar with the GP - I used to have a Mk2.

Thanks guys

...further info...

The muppet drive through a flood and did a bit of damage to the bumper and light.

Remove it (disconnect battery first), hair dryer or air gun it (carefull not to melt anything), put it in a bag with dry rice for the night (rice will dry it further) and re-install. That treatment should cure the moisture problem...

See the FAQ stickie..at top of GP section

A lot of electrical info there :)

Ahh yes, forgot about those lol
(Don't even use Ford Owners Club much these days...on account of driving a Vivaro now...not found a good forum for that lol)

Looking at it, the Electrical Gremlin thread looks to be the one for me.
