Hi all,

I have a grande punto year 2008 1.4 8v gasoline. When the gear is at neutral and the car starts moving down the road the idle fluctuates by itself. I am telling this because while in gear transition if I delay the next gear change the idle would go below minimum and sometimes engine stalling.
Can enyone explain why?

Thanks

What changes between stopped and running down the road ? Nothing but vibrations/slight engine move, which is enough to reveal bad earthing/weak connection/failing sensor "somewhere" ...

Thanks. What about when changing gears the idle goes below?

Well, you'd be in the same situation: the car runs and there is no throttle ...
How about service to the car (spark plugs, leads etc.), has it been done recently or is it due since months or even worse its status is unknown ??

The car isnt mine, but a friends. The problem she had was a low idle and pulling away in 1st issue.
It was instantly cured after almost 12 months of replacing plugs/leads/ignition coil pack with a second hand part that cost me £3 and took 30 minutes max to fit.
Worth a try imho

Can you help me with its location on my grande punto? Or can you send me the right model of it for my type of punto, a grande punto 2008, 1.4 petrol 8v ? Or at list a link where I can check it. Many thanks!
