Technical 1.3 multijet leaky injector seal

due to the small returning to the cabin I had to replace the other two seals today, lucky the weather over last two days here in cheshire has been mild thats why I decided to do it now.

the day didnt start well, I burst my tyre bring the car into the back yard, really pigged off with that considering I went up the kerb really slow like I always do cos I am careful

anyway job went well

until I refit the airbox with AFM? attached to it, I think the plug to the afm is bust, doesnt feel like its fitting properly, engine wouldnt start properly, woudl start up then cut out right away

I connected MES to the car and got these codes

no other wiring was disturbed, just the afm plug, which hasnt felt right for a while [the last couple of times I had to unplug it, and plug it back in]

I did swap the afm for another that I had, known to be working [it was on the car when I got it], and I cleared codes, they came back. But it will start up ok now.

its running anyway, but with eml on. I took it to get another tyre, then went to a large scrapyard and pulled the wire and plug that I need from a scrapper, the plug fits nice on my [off the car] afm, I wont get chance to fit it until saturday so it will have to run with eml on until then, it seemed to use lot of fuel so its probably running to a default map.

Sounds like you f***-up the plug, and somehow succeeded to re-plug it on the replacement MAF. I forgot once to replug mine and it was the exact same behavior: engine would start and then cut-off in seconds ...

Those are two different sensors built-in the same unit ... and are fed by the same fuse (hint hint !)

It's written in the attached text... " supplied by fuse 27 of junction box B1 " ...

There are some situations where we can't be of any help ... I've seen on a VW forum a mate who managed to connect his battery the wrong way: the main (120A) fuse blew but the alternator's diode died as well.

Thanks for the update anyway ;-)
