My 12 Year old Grande Punto has several fading body parts. Colour is red.

Has anyone else had these fading issues and bothered to do anything about it and replace these parts? Is it expensive? can it easily be done yourself?

Faded parts:

Rear Bumper
Rear Spoiler
Wing Mirror Covers
Door Handles

I think the front bumper is probably faded too.

The easiest parts to replace would be the wing mirrors covers. Maybe I wouldn't bother replacing the bumpers or getting them resprayed as maybe it's too expensive. Maybe I'd just replace the wing mirror covers and spoiler, maybe the door handles if it isn't too difficult.

Any advice?

I once bought a faded red punto that was actualy pink..spent a day polishing it by hand with T cut scratch stuff. Came up red and stayed that way.

With regard to fading, red and blue are the worst color. The cheapest solution is to polish the fadded parts as Nick did. You could also try to spray some clear varnish on the wing mirror cover to see if it improves the aspect...
