Just been reading Jarmot's guide to renewing the oil seal in the gear selector casing because I've got one to do on my boy's 2012 Punto 1.4 8 valve. If you look at this guide I've also posted in that thread.

The guide is actually for a 2009 (I think) 1.2 GP. The selector housing on my boy's 1.4 looks just like the one in the guide - which is a 1.2 of course. Anyone know if there is any substantial difference between the two? In other words if I follow Jarmot's guide for the 1.2 am I going to find something embarrassingly (or catastrophically - as in, small component falls into bottom of gearbox as cover is removed?) different about his 1.4?

Thanks for any guidance
regards
Jock

Hi Jock,

seems that 1.2 and 8V 1.4 got the same gearbox, so I'd say the procedure is the same :-D
