I have been looking at a 1.4 T jet...58 plate,98,000 the clock. 12 MONTHS mot, just serviced and had a new timing belt...panoramic sunroof(x2),new front discs and pads..bodyworks ok,could do with new bumpers...Runs sweet and engine and turbo appear good
Anything I should look out for?..
£1250...

" 58 plate " is probably very obvious for you in UK, but the poor rest of the world (since the Brexit) might not really understand... Is it so difficult to say " first half of 2008" if it's what it mean ???

Cheers, Bernie.

Just to complete our info, how is the reg. plate system working in the UK ?

From post 2010 plate go as follows
First have of 2000 till 2009 is 0 followed by year of reg for first half of year the. 5 and year for second half
E.g 02 first half of 2002 and 52 for late 2002

2010 onwards it's 1 and 6 prefix
So 12 early 2012 and 62 for late 2012

Exactly what I wanted to know Chris !! So I guess the plate follows the car ? How about those ' JB 007' plates ??

Cheers, Bernie

They're "personal plates". Number plates in the UK are generally age related but you can buy non-age related plates that are more personal to you.
You cannot buy a plate that would make your car appear newer than it is.
Say for example you have a car from early 2006 (an 06 plate) and you wanted to buy an 07 plate you wouldn't be able to put it on the 06 car.
