Car still has a lumpy tickover, and whilst at my local garage getting the exhaust looked at it was commented that the car was misfiring....again.

So they scanned it,with a generic scanner and lo and behold..random misfire was diagnosed.

Previously I changed the plugs and leads, twice. Swopped the coilpack with two second hand ones and still the issue persists.

Im close to buying a new coilpack BUT was wondering what else it could be?....

Plugs, leads & coils replaced ? So they're all supposed ok.
Do a correct troubleshooting: MES should tell you which cylinder is misfiring; from that moment, swap injectors and see if the misfire moves accordingly ...

MES license is 50€, ELM327 interface 20ish,yellow adapter (to read other ECUs like steering, bcm etc.) another ten. There are also "free" / "cracked" version on the web, usually full of malware so not recommended !

As another GP had come into my local breakers I got the coilpack, and leads off it for £10.
I fitted it to the car outside the breakers and....voila. Running like it should do.
The 'old' coil pack was from the same breakers and still marked up with thier identifier so they gave me the £10 back!!

The owner of the car is sooo much happier now she has a car running on all four cylinders and with a smooth gear change.Feels like a different car..again.
